Cosmetic Dentistry

Dr.Kilcoyne is a registered Specialist in all aspects of Cosmetic Dentistry, to improve your Smile and your bite, using the latest strong cosmetic Ceramic Crowns, Bridges, Veneers, Implants, natural Dentures, bonding and whitening treatments.

Many smiles often need a well planned combination of some of the above, applying Dr.Kilcoyne's expertise in technical skills and artistic skills, to produce beautiful & natural smiles.

What's the difference between Veneers & Crowns?

Think of Veneers like false fingernails, but they are just glued onto the front of teeth. The advantage is they remove minimal tooth, but if you catch the edges they can come off or chip much easier than Ceramic Crowns.
Crowns go all the way around the whole tooth and are much stronger and durable, better for heavy bites & forces but some tooth does have to be removed away from the backs of teeth, as well as the front. Dr.Kilcoyne will exam and explain which would give not just the nicest cosmetic result for you, but the most durable and best value too.

What's the difference between a Dentist and a Cosmetic Dentist?

There's no difference in qualifications and any dentist can label themselves as 'cosmetic', but only a fully trained and registered GDC Specialist can use the label 'Specialist' in the UK.

What are the most popular Cosmetic Dentistry treatments?

These are usually natural looking smile treatments that are minimally invasive or destructive to good tooth tissues, like bonding or ultra-thin Veneers and Crowns; or fixed-in teeth instead of part-dentures, using Implants or fixed-in ceramic Bridges with the latest clever designs.

How do I find out my Cosmetic Dentistry options?

That's best done by booking a detailed Cosmetic Dentistry assessment with Specialist Dr. Kilcoyne himself, who will be able to give you precise options and costs to fit your budget, for the cosmetic results you deserve.

Is Cosmetic Dentistry expensive?

Not necessarily for the huge improvements achieved. If you find yourself not smiling much in photos or covering your mouth when laughing or speaking in company, see this as an investment in yourself.
Prices will vary upon the amount of work needed, but our patients tell us getting our quality of care has been the best money they've spent, often wishing they had saved and done it earlier.

Can you have Cosmetic Dentistry on the NHS?

Cosmetic Dentistry is excluded from NHS dental care generally (read latest restrictions on NHS paperwork) and SmileSpecialistUK is totally Private anyway.
We have the expertise and experience over decades, for rebuilding or improving smiles, using the latest skilled techniques & cosmetic materials.
